Caved in
Are
The ponds
Of passion.
Ripped open
Is
The land
Of love.
Yet you ask
Why the
Peacock
Sings in
Mourning?
Lisping is
This
Verse of
Tomorrow.
Estranged are
Those
Tricked
Believers.
Yet you wonder
Why doesn't
The moon
Subside?
The hurdles
Of
Yesterday
Still remain
In
Tomorrow.
The pain of tomorrow
Somehow
Lives
In
Today.

Needless to say, I like the ending the best!
"The hurdles
Of
Yesterday
Still remain
In
Tomorrow.
The pain of tomorrow
Somehow
Lives
In
Today."
And this one is particularly good too,
"Estranged are
Those
Tricked
Believers."
Hmm..I like the ending but the peacock part made me realise after so many yrs that its mourning!!
is it the post-V day syndrome ?
The wounds that would not heal. Even the ponds, the land, the peacock, the moon, and time forsake.
So much pain...will time abandon, or will time also heal the wounds?
I don't want to sound too technical, but I like the restrained cadence of this poem a lot. :)
Niceee...
Mind if I link you up from me page??

the last verse was strangely compelling. who are we to know the travails of the future? but somehow, we do. we know the face of pain from any time and any place. beautiful words in this place. thanks also for your words at mine.
.:A:. - Thanks.
Blackempress - Yes. They do mourn.
Blackadder - Not at all. :)
PoeticMermaid - I hope Time won't abandon. As has everything else. Otherwise, it would mark the end of Hope.
CAROLVS - Hardly any hint technical, actually very apt. :)
Kaush - Thanks and welcome here. I'm glad you liked the ending. :)
enembius - Good analysis. The moon actually can be taken and understood in different contexts. Not at all a religious reference though.
You are right, it can be interesting when read carefully. I never realized.
Alien - Not at all. :) Thank you.
transience - Welcome here and hope you'd visit again.
Yes, the face of pain is all too familiar. You can sense it..no matter what. And the lingering effect of it is all the more heavy. Perhaps, that is why pain has a longer life-span than joy.
Your words are lovely. That you should praise mine when they pale by comparison is a compliment indeed. ~erin
Well.. u're linked..
