Lost Legacy

the world speaks
a language
i do not know

sometimes i wonder
if it is the
malice,
stories,
untruths

it has learnt
to deliver
that makes it
incomprehensible

its people mouth
words i
do not understand

most times i think
it is the
egoistic,
cowardly
pretensions

that they strive
to uphold
which leaves it
unfathomable

the human nature
renders me
disappointed

all the time i see
the entanglement of
lust,
greed,
cruelty

take control of
man's life -
making him
pointless

but
few have remained
still intact

every time i've known
i've believed it's their
strength,
integrity,
goodness

which stands out
like dignity
in a dustbin

AWESOME!

I often feel lost when I watch the news...so depressing and confusing.

This is very well written. I like the flow and the use of more complex words..it matches the poem.

Humanity's faults are what make it so irresistibly interesting.

the world does not
consist of others
alone;
it also has us...
we are
pebbles lining
shores,
and where there's a will
there's a
pond,
and if we can believe
how radio conquers
air
and distance,
then we can
believe
in ripples reaching
shores
and touching
pillars...

Dinu - :) Thanks and welcome here!

stan laurel - Sometimes I'd rather not watch the news/read the newspaper because it's distressing. More so when you are reminded of your limited capacities.
Thank you for your encouragement.

erin - There's more to humanity than just ego. Penetrate that facade and you'll see the worms exploding.

CAROLVS - Very close to what I've been working as. It's man's ugliness that lures us.

ree -
pebbles are
many,
not just us,
i once believed
in that pond
and the ripples
it could
raise
then i saw
that pebbles somehow
become
stones -
not out of
desire
but out of
helplessness
they got lost in
the shore
that marked
lines of
greed and
goodness

so
i've begun to hope
that
the pebbles of
today
grace the
drying pond you
talk of
and touch the remaining
pillars of our
dying tomorrow.

the woman - Thanks :)

Blackempress - So did I, dear.

bismuth - I am nodding my head now, with all my being I know what you mean.

transience - Yes. The human spirit shines through. Some shall today and more tomorrow.

Jyotsna - We are all working hard at that.
Thank you for coming by and I shall visit your blog as soon as time permits. :) Welcome.

The way it is written is very nice. Easy flow and like someone said, the last 5 words speak the loudest. cheers~
