Quartet

the night's stars
communicate in its
sublime drape of
wordlessness

__

My feelings
bounce off the
sound-proof walls
of Your heart

___

they say he is omnipresent.
i don't see him.
so i don't believe him.
or so i think.

___

that which i
loved in you
is now dressed
ugly

___

oftentimes i drape this
world with a delight -
of leaving it forever,
of enjoying it for now

___

tis always, fellow traveller,
that the last bite tastes
the best, the last goodbyes
show real love

___

a parchment of you
lingers somewhere in me -
i wish you had burnt yourself
right out of me

___

it would be nice
were we to live
than to simply
survive

___

on the receiving end
tell me, is it my smile
or the warmth from the
same that touches you.

___

What care have I?
Of tomorrow’s tomorrows
Or
Of yesterday’s dead children?

___

but tell me
can you measure
infinity?
yet you weigh goodness?

I like these bits o' wisdom. One in particular:

What care have I?
Of tomorrow’s tomorrows
Or
Of yesterday’s dead children?

scared the crap out of me. It jumped out of the screen and yelled in my face. I don't know how I feel about that yet.

Such wisdom. Culled from experience, eh? I so agree.

a parchment of you
lingers somewhere in me -
i wish you had burnt yourself
right out of me

A raging thought. Starkly expressed. ^_^

Pristine collection :..M..:

"oftentimes i drape this
world with a delight -

I liked this one for simple black and white look at life.

"tis always, fellow traveller,
that the last bite tastes
the best, the last goodbyes
show real love"

Couldn't agree more. As a traveler I know exactly how this feels and you have captured it in these few lines.

"a parchment of you
lingers somewhere in me -
i wish you had burnt yourself
right out of me"

Like the power in these lines of expunging what is bothering you.

Jax - I shall bow and say thank you. For me to have evoked so much in you that you want to think over it and not verbalize immediately - it is, indeed, an honor for any writer/poet.

stan laurel - I was scared myself when I wrote that. It's gotto do with the truth - it's crude and too real.

transience - I am touchedtouchedtouched beyond words.

BlackEmpress - Depth? Hehe. The waters are only as deep as you wish them to be. But, I thank you for your kind words :)

Soulless - Yes, the traveller quartet's more or less from personal experience. As for the second piece, I'm happy you found it to be the way you did.

.:A:. - :) I did imagine you to identify with the traveller one. And it's nice to hear what you thought of the other two. Thanks.

I cannot help but feel sad when I read your thoughts. They are, I agree, profound, but your depth came for a price that I felt you didn't want to pay.

Free Spirit - Yet I paid for it and once that point came I did it with a positive spirit. Hence, it was well worth it. Experience is something I never back out of :)

Haunting and taut. I love the line: "sublime drape of
wordlessness." A great way to describe the night sky.
