Quartet

Tattered, this record plays
The songs of a dream regained.
How different will this tune be?
Now that I have confiscated the copyright?

___

His voice trickled in today
Quite like his usual self -
Halting and rationing himself to me
Lest there might be an overflow

___

The clauses you attach to people
Are too many,
Like you are so perfect and beyond
Human reach

___

like a flame licking my spirit
i am impassioned
for i want to control you,
oh! i want to control you

___

There's a drape of rain
That promises to stay today.
Says it's time to cleanse the fire
Of the futile cause of my yesterdays.

___

The scent of death
Envelopes your senses,
Knowing so
You'd still go into denial

___

he says that he has changed,
he mingles with the simpler man, you see.
i wonder what he means by that word
for he seems to make a high-handed distinction, i see

___

sometimes
you linger in my mind
like a trespassing
transgressor

___

There is always another way.
Not this one that you instantly imagined
Nor that one which comes a short while later.
But the third which dawns after quiet consideration

___

Don't show me these roads
Which end at no where,
I don't wish to tread upon
Your dreams.

___

i still dream of her
she fills me with
a seething
sadness

the juxtaposition of the words seething and sadness had a strong effect on my. human emotion can be so complex. i loved how you portrayed it.

This really connects :..M..:

It reminds me of different people and how I might have behaved/felt at different times in life.

Thanks.

transience - Actually human emotion is simple. It's just the permutations and combinations that lend it a so called complexity. It's the human mind that creates this complexity.

Kristian - :) Ah. Brevity, thy name is Kristian?

Jax - We do.

bismuth - Yeah? I'm skeptical.

.:A:. - Don't humble me like that. I'm happy that you liked this - your comment struck me to be very honest.

Soulless - :) Hehe. Thanks.

iamnasra - Why, thank you. I'm honored you think so. :)
